One of my abiding memories of a painting trip to Venice in October 2018 is the spectacular late afternoon light along the quay. Unfortunately, I was usually either too tired or hungry to paint it, but I summoned up the energy on a couple of occasions. I got most of this one done one evening between 4-30 pm and about 6-00 pm and finished it in the studio when I got back home. For those familiar with Venice, I was standing near the Arsenale Vaporetto stop looking West towards the Salute.
