Lough Leane - Update 3

I worked some more on the middleground this morning refining the colour of the grasses and reflections. I also roughed in the foreground to get a better idea of the overall balance of colour. I can see already that I need to work some of the darker foreground values and more intense chroma further into the middleground. Anyway, here is the painting as it now stands:-

A couple of details showing the areas I worked most on today:-

These details give a better idea of the subtle colour variations in what would otherwise be very dull, boring areas in the painting. There is a delicate balance between getting this to read right and overdoing it. I will probably do a lot of refinement yet in this area when the rest of the painting is nearing completion.
